Welcome to the fascinating small walled city of Kotor!

Admire the fortifications from ancient times.

Before you arrive in the town of Kotor, you have a treat in store. In the hours before the ship docks you will be entering the Sea of Kotor. If you can step outdoors as your ship comes slowing into this narrow waterway, and be on the port side as the sun is rising on a clear day it will be unforgettable. Here are a few pictures. The town where you dock is by the orange star.

The Lady of the Rocks is build on an artificial island created from sunken and seized ships filled with rocks.

St. George Island is natural. The Abbey was built in the 9th century, destroyed by invaders and rebuilt several times.

Cruising is always a joy and new ports are always adventures.

I hope you enjoy the entries, and I would appreciate your feedback. If I have missed one or more of your favourite places in the cities, let me know!

Thank you to Lynda Thompson, Lovette Kyllo, Kelly Raine, Jamie Robertson and Katie Robertson for sharing their personal photos...... and, of course, Google maps and Wikipedia photos.

From the thousands of pictures of Vancouver Island that I have taken, I have sorted some of them into months. This is a vanity project that I have enjoyed doing!
